Description Located in the center of the Human district, East City Primary School is the first source of education for children in Phanes. Running from age 5 to 15, children attend classes in mathematics, chemistry, writing, early engineering, geography and fitness. While academic performance is by no means an accurate factor in predicting fertility, children are nonetheless encouraged towards fields they excel in. Specialized math and science courses are offered along with diplomacy, interpersonal skills and even extra fitness and combat classes are offered for older classes. Starting at 12 children undergo biannual exams to test for signs of puberty and fertility. Those who test positive are sorted off for the Discovery. Once they've been determined as human or barren, they are split into different classes for the remainder of their education until age 15. Humans are given science and literature based courses and Baren are given tech and combat courses. At 15 Humans are sent to trade school to further their education while Barren are given the choice between trade school or the military academy.
